On May 20, 2024, a new chapter began with the launch of the YEAH vol2 (Youth for Environmental Action and Hope) Programme at She Creates, one of our esteemed venue partners. YEAH is a collaborative initiative between sequa and Thant Myanmar, part of the Prevent Plastics project, aimed at empowering and educating Myanmar’s youth about environmental sustainability collaboration with our venue partners SheCreates သူမလက်ရာ, 3ZERO House Myanmar & Goethe-Institut Myanmar

YEAH’s mission is to equip the youth with the skills and knowledge to actively contribute to sustainable development. Our comprehensive curriculum covers a wide range of environmental topics, fostering a deep passion for conservation and positive change.

YEAH aims to create a brighter future for Myanmar and the planet by nurturing environmentally conscious and empowered youth. We instill purpose and provide practical tools for young people to make a meaningful impact on environmental issues.

We’re excited that the programme will commence in a hybrid format, enabling 25 youths from across Myanmar to participate.

Here’s a glimpse of our orientation activities:

Welcome Remark by Ms. Beatriz Lorenzo from the @European Union in Myanmar inspired the youth to become change-makers for the environment through this programme. Mr. Friedor Jeske, Programme Director from Thant Myanmar, discussed the establishment of the YEAH programme and the importance of youth involvement in environmental Onboarding Remark was accomplished by Wai Wabo, Communication & Engagement Manager at Prevent Plastics, provided guidance on the programme’s scope.

During Orientation introduction & ice breaker activities designed to foster connections among our young participants.

First Class on “How to be an Environmentalist?” by Mr. Freidor Jeske from Thant Myanmar, marking the beginning of our environmental leadership journey.
