In celebration of World Environment Day 2025 under the theme #BeatPlasticPollution, the EU SWITCH Asia Programme Prevent Plastics+ and the Australian Embassy Myanmar collaborated to host meaningful events with environmentally conscious youth on June 5th, 7th, and 8th at 3ZERO House Myanmar and Kokkoya Organics.
Under the themes #beatplasticpollution and #endingplasticpollution, the following competitions were organised to showcase the creativity and talents of young people:
-Debate Competition
-Poetry Contest
-Photography Contest
Due to a low number of participants, the children’s painting competition was unable to be held.
In addition to a mini Responsible Market, a Repair Corner was set up where people could bring in items like phones, laptops, umbrellas, shoes, and bicycles for repair.

On June 5th, the event concluded with an open mic session, where participants enjoyed singing and sharing joyful moments together.
On June 7th, the day began with a youth-led discussion, followed by the poetry contest, where participants performed both online and in person.
At the Repair Corner, household electrical appliances were repaired free of charge by the technician.

Despite the heavy rain on Saturday evening, participants engaged in soil block-making in the garden, fostering a closer connection with nature.
On June 8th, the event featured another youth-led discussion and a group viewing of David Attenborough’s documentary “The Ocean.”
The Responsible Market showcased eco-conscious vendors and their sustainable products alongside a photo exhibition open to all attendees.

The evening wrapped up with a soulful performance by Papillon the Band, blending music and nature, inspiring everyone to live plastic-free and in harmony with the environment.
