Bokashi in ACTION!
Biologically degradable produce cannot be titled as “WASTE”. The majority of the household handles the kitchen scraps by sending them to landfills and burning the decay from the garden. Food waste is the single largest category of material placed in municipal landfills, where it emits methane, a potent greenhouse gas. Prevent Plastics Myanmar collaborated with Bokashi Myanmar to spread the knowledge of composting organic waste using bokashi bran. For now, after over two months of implementing bokashi in Myeik, Kalaw and Yangon, the compost is ready to use.
